The Location of the Temple of God in Israel

Pastor F. M. Riley

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of kings is to search out a matter," Proverbs 25:2

I love God's Word, and if anything, this is an understatement. There is nothing I enjoy more in my "inner man," than to dig deeply into the Word of God and discover the solution to a problem that the Lord God has hidden in His Word. This is especially delightful to me, when the problem is dealing with a matter for which most assume that there is no problem. When the truth of such a problem in God's Word is then revealed, it moves me to praise and honor and worship my beloved Savior and God. Hallelujah!

Once again, the subject of the location of the Jewish Temple of God has surfaced on the Internet, and the "problem," as most see it today, is what is going to happen to the Muslim Dome of the Rock, in order for the Tribulation Temple to be built? Now I couldn't care less what happens to the pagan Dome of the Rock, but I do care very much about the location of the Temple of God, both the Temples which have existed in the past, and the Temple which is to be built in the immediate future.

Now because of what the Jewish people do currently believe about the location of the Temple, the Dome of the Rock does present a real problem for Israel and the Jewish people. So in this study, let's just see if God's Word has an answer for this problem…..

Where to Begin our Study

In 2 Chronicles 3:1-2 we read, "Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign."

Dear readers, here in 2 Chronicles 3:1 is stated everything one needs to BEGIN a STUDY about the actual location of Solomon's Temple, and every Temple of God which followed. What this passage says is very important in STUDYING this subject, and what it does not say is just as important. So let's carefully examine this inspired Scripture to see what is really being said.

Surely every true believer knows that the Lord God most often makes direct statements, right to the point, and is not known for wasting words simply to fill up space. So why in these Scriptures is the Lord repeating Himself? If Solomon actually built the Temple in "mount Moriah" as appears to be stated in the King James English translation, then why did the Lord immediately follow the statement by specifying a location other than mount Moriah? Oh yes He did! It is specifically stated that Solomon began building the Temple "where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite." A little serious Bible study will reveal that "mount Moriah" was not the place where the Lord appeared to David, and where David prepared the materials to build the Temple. It was also not the location of the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. Hello!

So where did the Lord appear to David, and where was the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite located? Have our readers ever seriously considered these questions, or has it just been assumed that the answers are obvious, based on what the unbelieving religious Jews traditionally believe and teach today?

The Mountains of Moriah

How many of our readers have ever bothered to look up the term, "mount Moriah," in the Scriptures? Are our readers aware that the word, "Moriah," is found only two times in the entire Bible? Hello!! The two places in the whole Bible where Moriah is referred to are Genesis 22:2 and 2 Chronicles 3:1. Look it up for yourself. This doesn't sound like this mountain was of any real importance to the Lord. But let's carefully study it anyway…..

Mount Moriah is located on the EAST SIDE of the city of Jerusalem, right next to the Kidron Valley, which separates Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. Check this out with your own Bible maps.

Now about those two times where Moriah is mentioned in the Scriptures. The first mention is in Genesis 22:2, where God tested Abraham by telling him to take Isaac to "the land of Moriah," and offer him as a sacrifice to God "upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of." Dear readers, all of the mountains in and around Jerusalem are a part of "the mountains of Moriah." All of them! This includes the Mount of Olives, Mount Moriah, Mount Calvary, Mount Zion, Golgotha, and other mountains whose names I cannot recall at the minute. Mount Moriah is only one mountain in the entire mountain chain.

Now, take your Concordance or Lexicon or Hebrew Bible, and look up the expression in 2 Chronicles 3:1, "in mount Moriah." Strong's No. 4179. You will find that it is in the plural form. It IS NOT "mount Moriah" as translated in the KJV English Bible, but rather IT IS "the mountains of Moriah." In other words, in the Hebrew text, there is no specific mountain named. Rather, the text of 2 Chronicles 3:1 specifically states that Solomon began building the Temple "in the mountains of Moriah…..where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared, in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite." So where was this place?

Tradition and Presumption

Significantly, it was David himself who prayed in Psalm 19:13, "Keep back Thy servant also from presumptious sins, let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression."

Folks, this Psalm was written by King David, who evidently recognized the folly and outright sin of presuming [assuming] something to be a certain way when the real truth of the matter is quite different. The Jews should have paid attention to their King. They didn't! Rather, the Judiastic Jews, several hundred years after the Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. for whatever their reasons, assumed that the "western wall" still standing on Mount Moriah was a part of the wall which had been around the Temple at the time of its destruction in 70 A.D. Today thousands of religious Jews flock to that "western wall," thinking they are revering the God of Israel when they pray at the wall, touch the wall, kiss the wall, and write out prayers and messages which they stick in the cracks and crevices in the wall. They pay no attention to their own Scriptures, or to the facts of history, in their zeal to honor the God of Israel. Their leaders have assured them that the western wall is the only part of the ancient Temple still standing, and they totally believe their leaders. Now read Isaiah 3:12 and 9:16 and wake up to truth!

Folks, documented history records that at one time there were some 4,000 Roman soldiers stationed in the Roman Fortress on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that there is no way that 4,000 Roman soldiers could have been housed, fed, and lived in the pitifully small ruins of the Roman fort that remains on Mount Moriah today, to which the so-called "western wall" is attached. Folks, the so-called "western wall" WAS NOT any part of the Jewish Temple which was destroyed in 70 A.D. Rather, the wall was, and is, a part of the Roman Fortress which once existed on Mount Moriah, housing the several thousand Roman soldiers who were stationed there.

The traditional view of Mount Moriah being the Temple Mount, and the presumption that it was and is, the Temple Mount, is WRONG! TOTALLY WRONG!

Therefore Israel Today Has a Major Problem

The Muslims were stupidly given possession of Mount Moriah following the Six Day War, mainly due to the fact that the government of Israel had sworn to protect all of the "holy places" of all religions. Since sometime during the past centuries, the Muslims had built a Mosque on that mountain, and also built the Dome of the Rock, it is considered a most "holy place" to the Muslims. In order to avoid criticism from the nations of this present world, the military leader of the Israel Defense Forces insisted that the entire mountain be placed in the possession of the Muslims. That single act of stupidity has come back to haunt Israel and the Jewish people today.

Today no Jew is even allowed to ascend what they assume is their most holy Temple mountain except on a schedule appointed and strictly enforced by the Muslims. Even when the Jews are allowed to go up the mountain, Muslim guards actually and literally watch their lips, to make certain that no Jew is allowed to pray on that mountain. Any violation of the rules laid down by the Muslims, can result in a stiff fine, and being barred from the mountain entirely.

So what we have today are two opposing religions, Judaism and Islam, both claiming that Mount Moriah is their most holy sacred mountain. And the Jews want to rebuild their Temple on this mountain? Political and spiritual insanity!

If the Jews should even attempt to build their Temple on Mount Moriah without the express permission of the Muslim leaders, such an attempt would result in a fiery red hot WAR, unlike any of the wars Israel has yet had to fight. History reveals that wars that have been fought in religious zeal have been the most fierce, bloodiest, wars ever recorded in human history. And such a war is exactly what Israel is facing, if they even attempt to build their Temple on Mount Moriah. So what are they to do?

Sadly, what they do not yet realize is that they DO NOT need to build their Temple on Mount Moriah, and it WILL NOT be built on Mount Moriah. How can I be so sure? Because of what is clearly stated and taught in the inspired Word of God!

Mount Zion

Now let's go back to 2 Chronicles 3:1. This Scripture explicitly states that Solomon begin building "the house of the Lord" in the exact place "where the Lord appeared unto David." So where was that place?

That place was on Mount Zion. Mount Zion was the location of the original Jebusite fortress and city which David conquered. Since the Jebusites were dwelling in Mount Zion at that time,, it should be obvious to our readers that Mount Zion was also the location of the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. It is explicitly stated in 2 Samuel 5:7, "Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion: the same is the city of David."

This statement is repeated several times in the Scriptures. David built his palace on Mount Zion. Therefore the original city of Jerusalem grew up around David's residence, and then spread southward from Zion. This is why the city of Jerusalem is several times referred to in the Scriptures as "the daughter of Zion."

I want our readers to also remember that when the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem and carried the people of Judah off into captivity, they later returned and burned the city, sowing the Temple Mount with salt, and plowing it under, in an effort to stop anything from ever growing there again. Then again in 70 A.D., after the Roman armies destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the Temple, they repeated exactly what the Babylonians had down centuries before. The Romans burned the city and sowed the Temple Mount with salt and plowed it under. Now isn't it interesting that the inspired Word predicted this to happen centuries in advance, explicitly saying, "…..Thus saith the Lord of hosts: ZION shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest," Jeremiah 26:18. See also Micah 3:12. Now why didn't the Scriptures specify Mount Moriah, if that was the Temple Mountain that was to be plowed like a field? Did the Lord God make a mistake here? Or is it men who have made a mistake? The Scriptures explicitly state TWICE that it was Mount Zion which was to be "plowed like a field." Then isn't it glaringly obvious that Mount Zion was the Temple Mount when both of these events took place? Hello!

I urge our readers to now carefully study 2 Samuel 7 and 1 Chronicles 17. These are the two chapters in God's Word specifically speaking of God making an "everlasting covenant" with King David as David "sat in his house" on Mount Zion. Read also 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21 -22. Notice especially in your reading, 2 Samuel 24:25 and 1 Chronicles 22:1. Right there in "the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite," [Ornan and Araunah are the same person] King David, speaking by Divine Inspiration, explicitly declared that specific place to be "the house of the Lord God, and…..the altar of the burnt offering for Israel." This is an important statement, clearly indicating where the Temple and the altar of sacrifice were to be located. So where was "the threshing floor of Ornan," which King David bought and paid for, for all the nation and people of Israel?

In Psalm 48:1-2 we read, "Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is MOUNT ZION, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king." Glory to God!

Folks, these Scriptures are quite clear that God is to be praised in the city of Jerusalem, "in the mountain of His holiness." Then immediately the Psalmist describes and names the mountain he has in mind as "mount Zion," and explicitly states that it is "beautiful" for its location, and is "the joy of the whole earth." And what is the location of "mount Zion"? It is located "on the sides of the north" in relation to the city of Jerusalem. Another way of putting this, is that "mount Zion" is located to the NORTH of mount Moriah. Check this out with your own Bible maps. But don't miss the significance of it being located to the NORTH. Why is this important?

Because this is the very place that Satan himself, in the person of "Lucifer," desires to rule the nations from during the coming Tribulation period. When Lucifer is spouting out his "I wills" in Isaiah 14, he explicitly states, "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the NORTH." Now where is "Mount Zion" located in Jerusalem? Mount Zion is on the NORTH SIDE of Jerusalem, and to the NORTH of Mount Moriah. Notice that in Psalm 48, ir is explicitly referred to as "the mountain" of God's holiness. Are some of our readers beginning to see this truth?

Today Mount Zion, with its almost flat top, is located nearly a mile to the north of Mount Moriah. It has been mostly ignored by the developers, and is grown over with weeds and brush and grass. On this mountain are a number of large flat stones, any one of them which could have served as the "threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite." The fact that the top of the mountain is a large flat area consisting of approximately 22 acres, made it an ideal place for David to store the material he was gathering for Solomon to build the Temple. And the presently unbelieving, spiritually blind, religious Jews have stumbled right over this truth set forth in their own Scriptures.

I have previously pointed out that "Moriah" is mentioned only twice in the entire Bible. Now contrast this with the mentioning of Mount Zion, which is mentioned in God's inspired Word 153 times. Yes, I said 153 times! Count them for yourself,. And over and over Mont Zion is connected with great prophetic events yet to be fulfilled, including the building of the future Millennial Temple from which the Lord Jesus will rule the whole world during the coming Millennial Kingdom. Read Zechariah 8:1-3 and Ezekiel 40 - 47.

Now if our readers want a Bible study that will bring a real blessing to any true believer, just take your Concordance, and look up and read every single passage in the Bible that mentions "Zion" or "Sion." The two terms are speaking of the same place. Such a study will cause the cup of every true believer to run over with blessings from the Lord.

The Plans of the Temple Institute

There is an organized group of Jews in Israel today who call themselves The Temple Institute. They are "orthodox" to the extent that they believe their Jewish Scriptures were inspired of God, and that the rebuilding of the Temple will bring their long awaited Messiah back to Israel. So they have dedicated themselves to the rebuilding of the Temple. They have been working and planning for many years. They have the garments of the priests made and ready for them to wear. They have carefully selected men in Israel whose names indicate that they are descendants of the Tribe of Levi, and have been training them in how to serve in the priesthood. They have built replicas of most of the furnishings to go into the Temple, such as the Menorah, the Table of Shewbread, the Golden altar, the Brazen Laver, and even a replica of the ark of the covenant with the mercy seat upon it. Just this year they completed construction of the Brazen Altar of Sacrifice, so it is now ready for use. .

Oh, cannot our readers who are true believers see how much the hearts of these men of the Temple Institute are longing for the God of Israel to return to the nation and people of Israel?

And yes, they have pored over detailed maps of Mount Moriah, trying to figure out a place on the so-called "Temple Mount" where they could build their Temple, without disturbing the Muslim structures that are already on that mountain. And they "think" they have figured it out. By reducing the size of the Temple, they "think" they can squeeze it in between the Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. This is, of course, subject to obtaining permission from the Muslims who now control the so-called "Temple Mount." I seriously doubt if the Muslims would ever give such permission to the Temple Institute. However, there is a truth that both the Temple Institute and the Muslims are overlooking…..

The Plans of the Lord God Himself

In the closing verses of the Old Testament Jewish Scriptures, the Lord God explicitly stated,

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse," Malachi 4:5-6.

The religious Jews take this Scripture as a literal promise of God, and have been watching for the coming of Elijah the prophet for centuries. They believe that when Elijah appears again to the Jewish people, their long awaited Messiah and Savior will also then appear.

That this promise was to be taken as a literal promise to Israel was confirmed by none other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself in Matthew 17:11, where the Lord Jesus explicitly stated, "…..Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things." Dear readers, take this Scripture literally. It means what it says, and it says what it means.

Elijah, right to this present day, is regarded as the greatest prophet of the Old Testament which God raised up to minister to Israel. And the Lord Jesus confirmed the truth of the prophecy set forth in Malachi 4:5-6.

Folks, "Judaism" IS NOT the ancient "faith" that was given to Israel by Moses at Mt. Sinai. Judaism is a corruption of that "faith." Judaism is actually and literally a false religion "invented" by the wicked Pharisees and Sadducees who arose during the 400 year period between the end of the Old Testament, and the beginning of the New Testament.

Oh yes I do know what I am saying. Three times in the inspired Word, Judaism is referred to as "the religion of the Jews." Read it for yourself in Acts 26:5, and Galatians 1:13-14. Folks, "religion" is neither salvation nor "the faith." The pagan woman who sacrifices her baby to the crocodiles in Africa is "religious," but she is certainly not saved, nor honoring the God of the Bible. Judaism is nothing but a vain, empty, religion. It is not the "faith" that God gave to Israel at Mt. Sinai, but rather is a corruption of, and departure from, that "faith." But…..

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself explicitly stated that the prophet Elijah will be sent back to Israel, exactly as prophesied in Malachi 4, and that when Elijah comes, he will "restore all things." This means that Elijah, Israel's greatest prophet under the Old Covenant, will be resurrected and sent back to Israel, where he will "restore" the ancient "faith" of the Israelites in the God of Israel. There is no doubt in my mind, that this will include directing the rebuilding of the Temple during the first half of the Tribulation period, and teaching the Jewish people how to properly honor God in their sacrifices and Temple worship.

However, Elijah will not be the only person the Lord uses to bring this to pass. In Revelation 11:1-2 we find John the Revelator brought into this same prophetic picture. John was the greatest prophet of the New Covenant dispensation, even as Elijah was of the Old Covenant.

In this passage in Revelation 11, John is explicitly told to "Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein." Keep in mind, dear readers, that John was used of the Lord to write the Book of Revelation in 96 A.D. At that time he certainly had not yet died. But the Greek word translated as "Rise" in this Scripture is the word, "egeiro." This Greek word occurs 140 times in the New Testament, and is almost always used in referring to someone rising from the dead. Therefore, John was obviously being told to "rise" from the dead.

Now we have two things in this Scripture passage in Revelation 11:1 which should be fascinating to the serious student of Bible prophecy…..

[1] When given this command, John was not dead!
[2] And, there was no Temple in existence for John to "measure."

Therefore, we conclude that the entire command was a prophecy to be fulfilled in the future. At some point in the future, John would be resurrected, and then would fulfill this prophecy. Look up the meaning of the word "measure" in your own Corcordance or Lexicon. It is the term used when an architect lays out a draft or design for a structure. Therefore John was obviously being told that in the future, he was to "rise" from the dead, and "measure;" that is, lay out the design of the Tribulation Temple.

So here we have two inspired prophecies giving us the exact names of God's "two witnesses," 11:3, and both of them are to be involved in rebuilding the Temple of God during the first half of the Tribulation period.

Now is there any reader so dense as to believe that these "two witnesses" of God will not know the proper location for the Temple of God? In spite of the present day plans of the Temple Institute, these "two witnesses" will see that the Tribulation Temple is built on Mount Zion, right where every Jewish Temple throughout history has been built. Glory to God! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Dear readers, "the time is at hand." We today are living right at the end of this present "dispensation of grace," Ephesians 3:2. The "fullness of the Gentiles" is almost complete, Romans 11:25. At any minute of any day now, that last precious soul will be saved, and when that happens the Lord's New Covenant Church and believers will hear the "trump of God" sound, and see and hear "the Lord Himself…..descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,….and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up [harpazo….snatched away; raptured] together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words," 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. ARE YOU READY? I'm no longer talking about weeks, months, or years, until the Lord Jesus comes for us. I'm talking about DAYS! I repeat! ARE YOU READY?

If there is any doubt in any reader's heart or mind about your salvation, then I suggest you read 2 Corinthians 13:5 and 2 Peter 1:10, and go to the Lord in earnest prayer about your salvation. Do it today! Tomorrow may be too late! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Ezekiel 33:1-9.

Dear readers, This may or may not be my final study, for due to severe arthritis and loss of eyesight, I am almost physically incapable of continuing to write. From my heart, I thank each of our dear readers who have prayed for me across these many years, and who have watered this ministry with your tears and prayers and gifts. Thank you so very much

Regarding "The Location of the Temple of God in Israel" by Pastor F. M. Riley:

Let's be good Bereans.  I'm sure Pastor Riley won't mind.  He said to look it up!

Here is his prime verse in Hebrew:

And from my electronic bible with notes:

Then Solomon began to build the house of YHWH at-Jerusalem [*BIrushalim] on-mount [*BeHar] {the}-Moriah** [HaMoriYah = the seen Yah], where the Lord [not there in Hebrew] {had}-appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. [*Could be "in, on, at, by"] [**Also Genesis 22:2]

He said:

"…look up the expression in 2 Chronicles 3:1, "in mount Moriah." Strong's No. 4179. You will find that it is in the plural form."

Hmmm…  Really?

HaMoriyah (http://biblehub.com/hebrew/4179.htm)

It does not indicate plurality and both instances have a Hey preceding it making THE MoriYah.  This literally means "the sighting of YaH".  Add to this my opinion that YaH, as opposed to YaHuWaH, is a hidden name of the precarnate Yahshua.  There are 50 instances of YaH  in the OT and all are either ambiguous or consistent with this idea.

BeHar (http://biblehub.com/hebrew/2022.htm) (67 instances)

The prefix Bet can be "in, on, at, by" so this is not any proof.  Looking at all other instances of the word it is either "mount", "mountain", "hill", or "hill country".  Only "hill country" could be thought of as multiple hills.  Looking at the exhaustive definitions of Har, other forms of the word can indicate plurality but not this form specifically.

So this could be "Moriah Mountain" or "the hill country of Moriah" by making fair comparison of all instances of BeHar, but there are only two instances of HaMoriyah (land of Moriah, mount Moriah) so there is no way to fix it as singular or plural.

I have a love-hate relationship with the KJV and have criticisms of its accuracy but I can't conclude so adamantly as he:

"It IS NOT "mount Moriah" as translated in the KJV English Bible, but rather IT IS "the mountains of Moriah."

Here are three valuable versions of 2 Chronicles 3:1

Then Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where [Yahweh] appeared to David his father, which he prepared in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

This version is honest showing that in the Hebrew the second "the LORD" is not there and adds Yahweh [YHWH] in brackets.

And Solomon beginneth to build the house of Jehovah, in Jerusalem, in the mount of Moriah, where He appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite,

Young put the "the" from "HaMoriah" in front of "mount".  I do not know enough Hebrew to know if this is fair.

Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

I love the NAS but they lied to us.  They should have made it "he" in italic to indicate a supplied word as "where he had appeared".  But these versions lied also: NIV, NLT, ESV, HCS, ISV, ASV, and others.  Amazingly, the Catholic Douay-Rheims (from the Latin) got it right (by switching phrases).  The Hebrew JBS also put "the Lord" in brackets.

This argument about where the temple was built has many difficulties and Riley and others that say the current temple mount was the Roman headquarters and not the temple site – and they might be right – but I have a question I have never heard someone ask or answer before.  Jesus said that the temple would be destroyed and not one stone would remain in place and thus we don't have any evidence. But if the current temple mount was the foundation of the Roman's fort, why did the Romans level it and push EVERY stone of the fort off the foundation of their own structure of authority?

This does not make sense to me.  It seems more logical that they would have leveled the temple and left their fort intact.  Is there any evidence that the Muslims leveled the fort when they took over the area after 1517?  Did they believe that it was the temple and pushed off the remains?  If the Romans had left the fort it should have been obvious it was not the temple and leveling it would have been a huge effort.

Riley also states that the temple mount would be plowed with salt twice.  Jeremiah 26:18 and Micah 3:12 say that Tzion would be plowed (no mention of salt) but all the hill tops of Jerusalem are rock and cannot be plowed.  It was the arable land that was plowed with salt and not the current temple mount nor a rock threshing floor possibly located somewhere else.  These verses do NOT say " Zion" was plowed but rather Zion which is all of Jerusalem and the immediate area.

Riley says the real mount Zion where the temple was and will be is "north of mount Moriah" but every map I can find shows mount Zion in the south west of part of the old city, west of the wailing wall.  I really don't know – I can only go by what the maps say.

Something I agree with absolutely is:

"Folks, "Judaism" IS NOT the ancient "faith" that was given to Israel by Moses at Mt. Sinai. Judaism is a corruption of that "faith." Judaism is actually and literally a false religion "invented" by the wicked Pharisees and Sadducees who arose during the 400 year period between the end of the Old Testament, and the beginning of the New Testament."

And I will add that modern Judaism is Phariseeism!  Jesus told us what he thought of their religion in Matthew 23.  If you want to know the difference between what the modern Pharisees teach and what Moses wrote down, study what the Karaite Jews teach.

Some other questions to be answered:

Will the Jews build their temple in the wrong place?

Satan knows where it should be and wants to sit in the temple, so would he lead anyone to build it in the wrong place?

Will it only be built after Elijah, one of the two witnesses, comes and tells them where to build it?

After Satan sits in the temple, will it be destroyed and rebuilt as the final temple of the Millennium or just cleansed and rededicated?

I have my opinion about these but I can't prove them.  Ultimately I am not worried about the temple issue.  It will happen as it was predicted regardless of our understanding, and if there are any errors they will be corrected in time.
