Why have so many today forgotten, overlooked, or ignored
The Seven Good Years?

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me.
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,” Isaiah 46:9-10.
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be: and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us,” Ecclesiastes 1:9-10.
“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past,” Ecclesiastes 3:15.
Every reader should be familiar with the account of Joseph in the ancient land of Egypt. He entered Egypt as a captive, was sold into slavery, and yet became ruler over the whole land of Egypt. All of this is recorded in Genesis, chapters 37 – 41. This is one of the Bible stories commonly taught to children in Sunday school, so most readers should be familiar with it.
The high point in the story of Joseph, was his interpretation of the dreams of Pharaoh, Genesis 41:14-46. Joseph told Pharaoh that there would be seven good years in the land of Egypt [a type of the world], followed by seven evil years. The reason for classifying these two seven year periods as either good or evil, was obviously the abundance of food to feed the populace during the seven “good years,” and the total lack of food during the seven “evil years.” Joseph was not concerned about the economy of Egypt, nor did he discuss the politics of Egypt with Pharaoh. The economy and the political situation in the land of Egypt was a side issue, and had nothing to do with classifying the years as good or evil. Remember that the inspired Word clearly states that, “All the labor of man is for his mouth…,” Ecclesiastes 6:7. Without the necessary FOOD to maintain strength and health and life, no other activities of mankind really matter.
Folks, FOOD is the bottom line for mankind. If there is no food for man to eat, then nothing else in man’s life really matters. Mankind MUST have food in order to survive. Mankind on the earth is absolutely helpless without the food necessary to maintain life.
So Joseph in ancient Egypt told Pharaoh that there would be seven good years, followed by seven evil years, and the years were classified as good or evil due to the abundance of FOOD, or the total lack of FOOD.
That this dream of Pharaoh was PROPHETIC of mankind living at the end of this present dispensation or age is beyond question. Why? Because there are two similar seven year periods in the prophetic Word for the end-time, even though most “prophecy teachers” and others seem to have overlooked or ignored them. Now let’s see how this ancient dream of Pharaoh impacts mankind living on the earth today……
Scriptural Proof of this Truth
God’s inspired Word repeatedly says that every matter between men is to be settled by “two or three witnesses,” Deuteronomy 17:6; 19:15; Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1; 1 Timothy 5:19; Hebrews 10:28. The God of the Bible, whom true believers serve in truth, practices what He preaches! Here are God’s “two witnesses” to this truth…..
Both Solomon and Paul were inspired of God to say that the things which happened in past human history, were to be repeated again as this present age draws to a close. Solomon explicitly stated this truth in Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 and 3:15.
Now read Paul’s writings in 1 Corinthians 10:1-13, where Paul explicitly pointed out that everything which had happened to ancient Israel, and the Israelite people, was for “examples” [typos…types], and was written for the instruction of us who are living today. May the Lord God grant the grace to His people today to discern these truths and learn from them. So now let’s see what we can learn…..
The Seven Good Years
It ought to be glaringly obvious to any really serious student of Bible prophecy that the seven good years in ancient Egypt, immediately followed by seven evil years, set forth a type of the seven year Tribulation period, preceded by seven good years. It doesn’t take a whole lot of spiritual discernment to see this truth. Ancient Egypt was a type of the whole known world at that time, therefore it typifies the whole known world today.
Ancient Egypt, at the time of Joseph, was the glory of all the ancient kingdoms of the world. It was the wealthiest, most magnificent, and most powerful, kingdom on the earth at that time, economically, politically and militarily. Yet, over the centuries that followed the flood in the days of Noah, it had also become a very wicked nation, having departed from the true worship of God. Now what one nation on earth today has achieved the wealth, glory, and power, of ancient Egypt, and is therefore fulfilling the type of ancient Egypt? Think about it! Well…??
So where are the “seven good years” set forth in our world today, and the Scriptural proof of it? Gee! I’m so glad you asked!
The Olivet Discourse
In this discourse as recorded in Matthew 24 – 25, four of the Lord’s disciples came to Him privately, Mark 13:3. These four Jewish disciples ask Him the three questions recorded in Matthew 24:3. In answer to these questions, the Lord Jesus, in 24:4-8, first gave a description of world conditions and events which would precede and lead up to the “sorrows” of the Tribulation period, 24:8. Any careful Bible student can easily see that what is described in these five inspired Scriptures are conditions and events which are prevailing upon the earth RIGHT TODAY! These are not the “sorrows” which are coming upon humanity during “the seven evil years” of the Tribulation, but rather are the “birth pangs” leading up to “the beginning of sorrows.” Have our readers ever looked at these Scriptures in this way? I doubt it, for most commentators and “prophecy teachers” just dive right into the Tribulation period in the Olivet Discourse without even considering that these Scriptures [24:4-8 ] are the prelude to the Tribulation period.
Was there a prelude to the “seven evil years” in the days of Joseph and ancient Egypt? Of course there was! There was “seven good years” which preceded the “seven evil years! Every honest reader knows this to be true. Even so, there are, or now have been, “seven good years” which precede the “sorrows” of the Tribulation period, which is staring humanity in the face RIGHT NOW!
Identifying the “seven good years”
The past seven years [2008 – 2014 ] of this present dispensation have been so hard from an economic and political view point, that there are some today even claiming that we are already in the Tribulation period. But hey! These have been “good years” from the viewpoint that we have had plenty of FOOD to eat and were able to eat it in peace.
Claiming to already be in the Tribulation is HOGWASH! The claim is not so, and is a classical example of not “rightly dividing the Word of truth,” 2 Timothy 2:15. Those ancient “seven good years” were not determined on the basis of the economic or political situation that existed in ancient Egypt. I repeat….those “good years” were determined on the availability of the FOOD supply. Hello!
Yes, during these past seven years we living today have seen a downturn in the economy of this country, and certainly a change for the worse in the politics of this nation. The same can be said for the whole world system. From the economic and political view point, these past seven years have been difficult years for many people, but the economy and politics were not the determining factors in ancient Egypt, and they are not the determining factors today in the fulfillment of this ancient prophecy.
While these past seven years have been difficult, there has still been FOOD available for everyone who could afford to buy it. But folks, even the end of the food supply is now staring this country and the whole world right in the face. Is this just “coincidence”? Not hardly!
These past Seven Years
Now let’s just take a close look at these past seven years…..
It is now documented history that dire signs of the economy being in trouble began to appear in 2007. However, the economy held up the rest of that year. “7” is the Bible number signifying “completion; to complete; to fulfill; to bring to an end or close.” Then 2007 was the end of the great economy America and the world had enjoyed for many years.
It is also documented history that it was the next year, 2008, when the housing market in this country went “south,” resulting in banks all over this country collapsing, or being swallowed up by bigger banks. Hundreds of people lost their homes, their businesses, and their fortunes. Factories closed and hundreds of people were thrown out of work. Every reader knows that I am stating truth here. It was in 2008 that the U.S. Stock Market dropped 777 points in one day. And it was in 2008 that the whole world economy was being effected the same way as the U.S. economy. The economy of nations all over Europe and other parts of the world began failing. It was reported that many wealthy bankers in Europe committed suicide in 2008. Also some in America. “8” is the Bible number signifying “a new beginning, new things, a new start, a change!” And change is what we got! Was all of this just “coincidence”? Hello!
Now take these last seven years, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and you will have “the seven good years” clearly typified in the dreams of Pharaoh as interpreted by Joseph some 4,000 years ago. Isn’t it ironic that during all of these past seven years, men have been concerned about maintaining the world economy, and having politically stable governments, even while a WORLD FOOD CRISIS has been developing right before their eyes. Folks, if you pay attention to this list of years, beginning with 2008 when the economic crisis first hit, and count the years, this year of 2015 is the 8th year in the list, and it is therefore time for A CHANGE AGAIN THIS YEAR. Right now in this country, and most other countries in the whole world, the people are facing a world wide FOOD CRISIS, and the reality of it will suddenly break upon the nations of the world before the end of THIS PRESENT YEAR. Is this all just “coincidence,” or was it typified in God’s Holy Word some 4,000 years ago? Answer the question honestly! God is listening!
“Sorrows,” The Time of God’s Vengeance
Now again, take the last two digits on these last seven years and add them up. 08 + 09 + 10 + 11 +12 + 13 + 14, and what is the sum? The sum is “77.” Add them up for yourself. “77” is the Bible number signifying “vengeance or recompense.” And during the swiftly approaching Tribulation period, isn’t the Lord God going to take “vengeance” against unbelieving, Christ rejecting, mankind? You know He is! Further, the one inspired book in the whole Bible devoted almost exclusively to describing God’s vengeance upon mankind for their wickedness is the Book of Revelation, which deals with the terrible seven year Tribulation period; the time of “sorrows.”
The first chapter of Revelation is the introduction to this whole book in which the God of Heaven pours out His “vengeance” upon unbelieving, God hating, Christ rejecting mankind, not only for their evil lifestyle, but for shedding the blood of those believers in the past, and those who will yet believe on Christ Jesus during the coming Tribulation period, Revelation 16:6. In the first chapter of Revelation, the number “seven” occurs exactly eleven times in the Greek text. Eleven times! Now an alert for our readers!
Those of our readers who will make the effort to count the word “seven” in the first chapter of Revelation will likely find it 12 times in their English Bible. This is because one of the King James Translators apparently got carried away with the reference to the “seven churches” in 1:4, and decided for himself that it needed to be added to the “churches” in 1:11. The word “seven” is not in the Greek text in verse eleven. Check this out in your own Greek New Testament or Greek Bible. This means that the word “seven” occurs only eleven times in Revelation 1. Significantly, “11” is the Bible number which signifies “judgment; the judgment of God.” Seven times eleven is “77,” the Bible number signifying “God’s vengeance” upon incorrigibly wicked mankind left on the earth during the Tribulation period. So the two ending digits for the past seven years leading up to the time of “sorrows” adds up to “77,” and the one book in the Bible which is devoted to an account of God’s “vengeance” begins with “77.” More “coincidence”?
It is then glaringly obvious that these last seven years, 2008 through 2014, correlate with the “seven good years” predicted in type in the dreams of Pharaoh, and they also correlate with the past seven years leading up to “the beginning of sorrows.”
The Lord’s Own Predictions
Now let’s see exactly what the Lord Jesus Himself predicted in these five Scriptures, Matthew 24:4-8, which lead up to the time of “sorrows” [the Tribulation].
In 24:4, the Lord explicitly told the disciples, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Folks, I have personally been confronted with more far-fetched, unscriptural, theories and opinions from people claiming to be “Christians” in the past seven years than ever before in my life. I have never previously seen a time when there was so much outright “false teaching” in the churches and the ranks of Christianity, than there is today. No wonder Christ warned His people about being deceived.
Then the Lord followed up that warning by stating in 24:5, “For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many.” Folks, how many cults have we seen raided and closed down in these past seven years, where the leader of the cult was teaching his followers that he was the living embodiment of Christ? And there are still such cults scattered around this country and other parts of the world today. In fact, the Roman Pope claims to be the “Vicar of Christ” on earth today. Hello!
Then in 24:6, the Lord warned, “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
This has been a non-stop ongoing process throughout these past seven years. Threats from North Korea, Russia, China, Iran, Iraq, Ukraine, and now the ISIS Muslim terrorists. Constantly we hear “rumours” about the possibility of an EMP attack on the United States, or a surprise nuclear attack on this country. And of course, similar threats are made daily against the nation of Israel. Our U.S. service men are still fighting and dying in Afghanistan and Iraq, as they try to maintain peace in those countries, long after the real war was supposed to be over.
Since the Lord clearly stated that “these things must come to pass,” it should be obvious to every reader that the Lord God is in control, and is guiding the nations in their military actions, in order to carry out His own agenda for the future. Therefore, knowing that the Lord God is in control, there is no reason for true believers to be overly anxious or upset by what we see happening. Just “trust and obey!”
Christ also pointed out in 24:7 that “nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.”
Have I mentioned “seriously studying” the Scriptures? The word “nation” in this Scripture is literally translated from the Greek word, “ethnos.” In other words, what the Lord was actually saying is that one “ethnic” race, group, or culture would rise up against another “ethnic” race, group, or culture. Look it up for yourself in your own Concordance or Lexicon. Have we seen any of this in these past seven years? Ho boy!
Even as I write, there are demonstrations going on in Baltimore because of the killing of another unarmed black man by the police. Such has almost become a daily occurance over these past several years. Remember Ferguson, Missouri, and what happened there? It isn’t over yet!
All over this nation there are “ethnic” demonstrations daily against the police. It is so bad that many police officers are resigning and leaving the police forces. Obviously many prospects for police officers have changed, or are changing, their minds about going into law enforcement, and are seeking another line of work. Folks, when law enforcement totally collapses due to these “ethnic” clashes, then when someone of any “ethnic” race or culture desperately needs help, who are they going to call on for help? Well…?? Hello!
Our American court system isn’t helping the matter any, for there has been ruling after ruling handed down in the courts, giving to homo-sexuals “rights” previously granted only to married couples, and to hard working, God fearing, law abiding, citizens. But “s-h-h!” Don’t say a word against this “ethnic” group, or you may land in jail accused of a “hate crime.”
There have also been “famines” in many countries around the world during these past seven years; Russia, North Korea, Somali, and Ethiopia, just to name a few. And “famine” is showing every sign of increasing around the world.
And “pestilences”? Both old and new diseases and pestilences have absolutely thrived and grown by leaps and bounds over these past seven years, and new ones are announced on the news media nearly every day.
Don’t fail to notice that in this Scripture, the last condition or “sign” the Lord gave was “earthquakes in divers places.” Folks, in the past, earthquakes most certainly did occur, but they were usually spaced out to one or two a year. Over these past seven years earthquakes have increased in both frequency and intensity, until now there is a major earthquake occurring somewhere in the world nearly every day. Is this just “coincidence”? I hardly think so!
As I write, a gigantic 7.8 earthquake struck Nepal now two days ago. Thousands of people have already been reported killed, 4,000 as of noon today, and the death toll is expected to rise. However, these daily earthquakes are just a prelude to the “big one” that is coming to end this present age and begin the Tribulation “sorrows.”
The Testimony of the Psalms
In my studies, I have often referred to the Psalms, and their correlation to the years of the 20th and 21st centuries. Now I urge our readers to look back into the Psalms, and carefully study Psalm 108 through 114. These are the seven Psalms which correlate with the past seven years; 2008 - 2014. A careful study of these seven Psalms, will reveal that each of them are prophetic of events leading right up to the beginning of the Tribulation period. Psalm 113 plainly predicts the resurrection and rapture of God’s people, 113:7-8, and then of the restoration of Israel which follows the rapture, 113:9.
But in looking at these clear predictions, don’t fail to look at Psalm 114. This Psalm speaks of the time in ancient history when Israel came out of the land of Egypt, an event which is about to be repeated on a far greater world wide scale. And what was going on when Israel came out of Egypt. According to the Psalmist, there was a great earthquake, so large that it caused massive tsunamis in the sea, and caused “the mountains” to skip “like rams” and “the little hills like lambs.” Now since all of this occurred when the Lord God brought ancient Israel out of Egypt, what do our readers think is going to happen when the resurrection and rapture of God’s people occurs?
The resurrection and rapture of New Covenant believers will occur during a world-wide “earthquake” larger than any previous earthquake in human history. Why? Because there are New Covenant believers buried all over this entire earth in various locations. Every one of them will be resurrected when the Lord comes at the time of the rapture, 1 Corinthians 15:23; 1 Thessaslonians 4:13-18. . When Christ died on the cross for our sins, there was a “great earthquake,” Matthew 27:50-54. When He arose three days and nights later, there was another great earthquake, or a massive after-shock from the first one, 28:1-10. Since Christ Jesus and the “firstfruit” saints set the pattern, I fully expect there to be a massive world-wide earthquake at the time New Covenant believers are taken out of this world, even as Israel was taken out of ancient Egypt, Galatians 1:4; Psalm 114. Then it doesn’t appear to be “coincidence” that the very last warning that Christ gave to His disciples when speaking about the seven year period just preceding “the beginning of sorrows” was “earthquakes in divers places,” 24:7.
Before leaving the Psalms, don’t fail to notice that Psalm 115, correlating with this present year of 2015, is all about the Lord God calling for a relationship to be restored between Himself and the nation and people of Israel. This is exactly what will happen right after the rapture has occurred and the Tribulation period begins. Glory to God!
Oh, one more thing. If our readers will add up the numbers of each of the Psalms, 108 through 114, the sum will be “777.” This is the Bible number signifying “the extreme fullness of the wrath of God.” This is speaking of the wrath that will be poured out upon Christ rejecting mankind during the coming Tribulation period.
Finally, in 24:8, in referring to what He had just stated in 24:4-7, the Lord explicitly stated, “All these are the beginning of sorrows.” If our readers will look up the word translated as “sorrows” in this particular Scripture, they will find that it literally means, “birth pangs.” Folks, all through the Bible, it is the nation and people of Israel which are struggling to come to spiritual birth. What has happened in the whole world system over these past seven years are just indicators that the nation and people of Israel is almost ready to go into serious labor, as “a woman in travail” to bring her children to spiritual birth in the Lord. The time of “sorrows” and spiritual birth for Israel and her people will be during the next seven years of the Tribulation period. The world conditions which have developed during these past seven years only lead up to the time of “sorrows.”
Yes, I am well aware that what is described in 24:4-7, will most certainly continue during the coming Tribulation, and will even become much worse. This doesn’t change the fact that these Scriptures have to do with the seven “good years” preceding the Tribulation period, and the Lord Himself explicitly stated that what He described occurring in these Scriptures, is that which leads up to, “the beginning of sorrows.”
If some readers refuse to receive this truth, they are perfectly free to do so. But since Joseph, that Godly man, some 4,000 years ago, clearly pointed out that there would be “seven good years” preceding the “seven evil years,” and since the Lord Himself, in 24:4-7, described the exact conditions which have prevailed on this earth over these past seven years, I cannot simply dismiss or ignore the very vivid fulfillment of the type.
Now what other conclusion could I draw than that, in going into 2015, we have entered into the year following “the seven good years”? Therefore, I most certainly do expect the Lord to come to resurrect and rapture His New Covenant believers to glory this year. I also expect the “sorrows” of the Tribulation to come upon mankind left upon the earth following the rapture, this year.
As I have pointed out in this study, all of mankind on the earth is facing a world-wide FOOD shortage right now. This will be the next really great news event, as the truth of this FOOD crisis suddenly breaks upon mankind left on the earth. I remind our readers that when the Lord Jesus opens the “third seal” on the little book, shortly after the beginning of the Tribulation [sorrows], enough grain to bake a single loaf of bread will be selling for a day’s wages, and there will be world-wide food rationing imposed upon the people. Read it for yourself in Revelation 6:5-6.
I also remind our readers that the Lord Jesus explicitly told His disciples, “see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass….” Why should not God’s people be troubled in view of “all these things” which are happening? If our readers really believe that the “seven evil years” are staring mankind in the face right now, then why should we not be troubled? Why? Because the Lord Jesus Himself has provided and promised a way of escape to all who will pay attention to His Word. “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man,” Luke 21:36. Read also the explicit promise of the Lord Jesus in Revelation 3:10.
Folks, the dear Lord Jesus is coming to rescue His Church; His betrothed bride, and all of His true New Covenant believing people, by lifting them out of this sordid mess that wicked men have made of this world. We who are true believers will be lifted right off the face of this earth in the glorious Pre-Tribulation Rapture, whether some want to believe it or not. And it is going to happen in this present year, 2015, during this period of transition from the “seven good years” to the “seven evil years.”
Are you “watching”? Are you “ready”? Read John 3:36. Which “group” are you in, in regards to this inspired Scripture?
